FAQ

Do these cards work in all EMT 948 and EMT 950 turntables?

Yes! These are designed to the original size and connection specifications and will work with all models of EMT948 and EMT950 turntables.

What is the improvement to the sound with the upgrade cards?

You can expect a significant improvement to the overall clarity and quality of sound especially in the critical mid-range bands. While they keep the same sonic signature of the originals, stereo imaging is improved, transient attack faster with more extended bass and highs.

What cartridges do they work with / do you recommend?

The cards work with all MC (moving coil) cartridges with output between 0.3mv and 1.4mv. The phono EQ card has adjustable loading via mini jumper boards that enables a wide range of cartridges to be utlised and fine-tuned to suit specific systems. We use the EMT TSD MRB on our EMT 950 and a vintage EMT TSD15 in our EMT 948. We have also had good success with cartridges such as Sumiko Starling, Benz Ref S, Ortofon Quintet Red and several others.

How do I select the loading values for my Phono EQ card?

Please contact us via the contact form on the site with the values you require. If you are unsure please let us know the cartridges you plan to use and we can recommend.
